All floors in the apartments will be cork tile flooring. This will give a soft feel which will make a pleasure to walk on barefoot. The cork tile flooring will also be easier to clean – just requiring a broom. It is also pest resistant, and for some invasive bugs, cork tile is toxic. This makes it ideal for natural pest control. For the apartment, the cork tile flooring will be white with a black border. For the residence, the floor will be black with a white border.
In addition to flooring being cork tile, there will also be underfloor radiant heating systems in place. This will be especially useful in the winter when cold is a serious issue, and the temperature can go below 0°F (-18°C). Obviously, there will be no need for underfloor radiant heating in the non-winter months, and for that – forced air air conditioning will be used.
