You would be allowed a number of pets of 1 + 1/bedroom (maximum of 4). Therefore, a studio will only allow for 1 pet, whereas a 6 bedroom will only allow for 4. You responsible for the proper care and well being of the pet. They will not be allowed to regularly urinate and defecate in the unit. While accidents are acceptable, you will be required to provide for a litter box for cats, and required to take your dog out for walks even in poor health. Houses will have some outdoor space, so the dog will be able to go in the yard, but the tenant is required to keep the space clean.
For apartments, it might make more sense to have cats even if you might be a dog person. There will be no requirement for cats, but again – it would make more sense especially if you live by yourself.
